The NSS Unit in Sri Padmavathi School of Pharmacy was sanctioned on March 16, 2015 under JNTU, Anantapur with the primary objective of developing the personality and character of the student youth through voluntary community service. The motto of NSS is “Not Me But You“, which reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for self-less service in addition to education. Under SPSP-NSS Cell, we have adopted Mundlapudi Village near Tiruchanoor for the deischarge of NSS activities.

Objectives:

The objectives include:

1. understanding the community in which they work
2. understanding themselves in relation to their community
3. identifying the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem-solving
4. developing among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility
5. utilising their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems
6. develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities
7. gaining skills in mobilising community participation
8. acquiring leadership qualities and democratic attitudes
9. developing capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters and practice national integration and social harmony

Functions:

The functions of NSS Unit include

1. understaning rich heritage and cultural diversity of India and integrarting nation through social services.
2. establishing rapport with the community where it is serving.
3. identifying the needs, problems and resources of the community.
4. planning programs and carry out these plans.
5. relating its learnings and experiences towards finding solutions to the problems being identified.
6. conducting and participating in National Festivals.
7. participating in National Youth Festivals.
