SPSP is an organization committed to disseminate quality pharmacy education which is accomplished by the formation of various college committees which:

Foster the improvement of the performance of the students (College Academic Committee), curbing the menace of ragging (anti-ragging committee),

Perceives grievances from students and faculty and making them aware of their responsibilities (Grievance Redressal Cell),

Identifies talented students who can represent the college at intercollegiate sports meets and to strengthen sports by organizing inter-class and inter-college activities (Sports and Games committee),

Promote social activities such as music, dances and novelty acts for creating a community spirit among the student body (Dance and Music committee).

All the committees are empowered with efficient faculty members who execute and implement the responsibilities of a particular committee.

Academic Committee

Duties and Responsibilities

The committee serves as the highest decision making body regarding all academic affairs of SPSP.

The committee is empowered in implementing the academic schedules strictly in accordance with the JNTUA University.

Prepare and execute the Class time tables for all the courses.

Assess the faculty workload for various courses.

Support the examination cell in the conduction of examinations.

Monitor the syllabus completion status regularly.

Decision making in student progression. Communicating important circulars and notices regarding the academic affairs to the faculty and students.

Coordinating with all the other committees for the betterment of SPSP.

Career Guidance Cell

Duties and Responsibilities

Enlightening the students about the importance of higher education.

Accomplishment of student betterment by upgrading their academic activities.

Conducting the competitive exam oriented classes, mock tests regularly for the Final year students.

Maintenance of question banks and other records.

Providing complete guidance to the students regarding the career opportunities after graduation and post-graduation in various fields like academics, industry, R&D, government jobs etc.

Developing the leadership qualities, personality development skills, communication skills, resume writing, scientific writing etc., in students.

Counseling the students in both academic and personal aspects and improving their confidence levels to compete globally.

Class Committee

Duties and Responsibilities

The class committees would strive for the collective involvement of respective class students for better academic environment and adhere to the rules and regulations of the institute.

Bring awareness in student community about the academic regulations of the University, attendance requirements, and detention criteria.

Discuss and submit the academic requirements of the students to the College Academic Committee.

Work for the effective implementation of Anti-ragging measures to make the campus ragging free.

Duties and Responsibilities

This committee provides a platform for student community to exhibit their inherent talent.

Bringing together the students who are interested in fine arts and providing artistic experiences to students and faculty.

Creating an opportunity for the students to work as a team and assume leadership roles and responsibilities. Promoting and enriching the practice and study of argumentation through ON and OFF campus activities.

Encouraging cultural awareness, challenge, peoples’ social biases and acquaint members with the wide spread effects of Indian culture.

Compiling and distributing a Bi-monthly cultural affairs newsletter.

Creating a calendar of events by giving priority to days’ of international and national importance.

DIC News Letter Committee

Duties and Responsibilities

This committee would work for the development of Drug information center in the college.

Constitution of editorial and publication committee for DIC newsletter.

Preparation and compilation of DIC newsletter quarterly.

Collection of information related to recent advances in pharmaceutical research & development.

Communication of news letter to the physicians, colleges & other HCP’s regularly.

Coordination ion the establishment of liaison between physician & CP through newsletter and services.

Examination Cell

Duties and Responsibilities

The committee is empowered to take all the necessary steps to conduct the examinations in accordance with the rules and regulations of JNTUA.

The committee is involved in the Finalization of the internal exam schedules

Collection of question paper of concerned exam in strict confidentiality

Allotment of invigilation duties

Consolidation and finalization of internal marks.

Monitor the conduct of university examinations in strict compliance of JNTUA instructions.

Finalization of monthly attendance of students and preparation of list of attendance shortage students.

Submission of final aggregate % of attendance of individual students to the CAC, with the list of students to be detained for shortage of attendance.

Maintenance of all records pertaining to examination section, and storage of documents for three years.

Related to examinations, ALL instructions of the committee are final and should be abided by faculty and students.

Library Committee

Duties and Responsibilities

The committee would work to streamline the activities of Library.

Promote the effective functioning of SPSP library.

Maintain a data-base of all the Publishers and Book suppliers.

Consolidate the requirements of books and journals by all the departments, and invite the quotations for the same. Prepare the purchase order copy after obtaining the approval from purchase committee.

Proper entry of books in accession registers.

Maintain the back volumes of all soft and hard copies of journals.

Annual audit of the library books in association with other faculty members.

Initiation and completion of the digitalization of whole library.

Responsible effective utilization of library resources.

Motivating the students about the importance of library reading and the journal reading.

Procurement and sorting of internal and University end examination question papers from the examination section for reference in library.

PG and Research Studies Co-Ordination Committee

Duties and Responsibilities

The committee works for the co-ordination and progress of all PG departments.

The committee shall look in to the matters pertaining to the facilities, equipment, text-books available for all PG courses.

The committee shall look in to the matters regarding the request for the purchase of new equipment, maintenance and repairs of the equipment in the machine room, central instrumentation lab, and other departmental laboratories.

Guiding and mentoring the PG students for their overall growth.

Planning and executing the research works and project works for the PG students.

Establishing an R&D cell in each department, where the latest trends, technologies and innovative ideas are shared with the PG students.

Conducting inter-disciplinary gatherings known as “KT meet” regularly in SPSP.

The committee shall strive for obtaining the funded research schemes from various govt. and non govt. bodies. Coordinating with the TAP for acquiring the approvals/permissions for carrying M.Pharm student project works at industries.

Encouraging the PG students in the preparation and compilation of research articles for journals and other scientific writings.

Pharm.D Academic Co-Ordination Committee

Duties and Responsibilities

The committee would work to stream line the academic requirements of Pharm D program including PB. Would identify and fulfill all the prerequisites as per the PCI regulations of Pharm D for registration of the students as pharmacists.

Would coordinate with the Physicians of associated clinical facility hospital (SVRRGGH). Would organize CPE workshops regularly.

Strive to establish Pharmacovigilance centre.

Responsible for establishment of GCP and work to receive funding in this area.

Seminars and Workshops Committee

The seminars and workshops are qualitative tools embark for capacity enhancement, acquisition of skills and competencies, exchange of ideas, developing a practical approach to intricacies of industrial environment and for interactive exchange of information between student and teaching fraternities. Training, workshop and seminars have individualistic importance for any organization be it at micro, small or medium scale.

SPSP has always promoted the student and faculty participation in various workshops, seminars and conferences, thus encouraging the continuous teaching and learning process. Annually SPSP organizes various seminars and conferences centered with trending themes in various fields of pharmacy thus benefiting its own student community as well as other pharmacy students and faculty members.

Duties and Responsibilities

Preparing a list of resource persons from both academic and industrial profession.

Arranging guest lectures and seminars by the resource persons.

Organizing and conducting international and national seminars and workshops for various departments in the college.

Gathering of information regarding the various upcoming seminars, workshops and conferences and circulating the same to the notice of faculty and students.

Maintenance of records of attended seminars/conferences/workshops.

Planning, organizing and conduction of an international/National seminar/workshop in the college annually.

Motivating and encouraging the students to participate in various seminars/conferences/workshops.

Helping the students in preparing posters and oral presentations for the seminars/conferences.

Duties and Responsibilities

Warehousing the chemicals, glass-ware, lab records and other goods in the store department.

Preparation, maintenance and up gradation of equipment, chemical, glass-ware and other goods’ registers regularly. Cross-checking of indent list for chemicals and glass-ware.

Monitoring the stock levels of record books.

Maintenance of issue registers for sports and other general goods.

Maintenance of equipment/instrument related soft-ware and accessories.

Maintenance of registers for received and issue quantities of rectified spirit.
